Feature Release: Export Data from Smart Tables

We are delighted to announce that the highly requested feature to export data from Smart Tables is now live! This update empowers your business with enhanced reporting capabilities by allowing you to export customized DataGrid views directly to a CSV file.

Summary:

Harness the power of Smart Tables with their advanced filtering and Views and export directly to a CSV file.

Intended Outcome:

• Provide users with a flexible and powerful reporting tool covering many areas of the business.

• Users can tailor their reports using the Column and View flexibility.

• Quickly generate reports such as 'List of new contacts categorized as “Commercial,”' or 'List of All overdue tasks assigned to User 1,' or 'List of All Jobs completed at this Location within this Date Range.’ The options are endless and very powerful.

How It Works:

• After setting up the desired View/Report in the SmartTable, simply click the “Export” button to download the current view as a CSV file.

• Export functionality is limited to Administrators or higher.

• The new export feature has been applied to the following Smart Tables: Assets, Contacts, Invoices, Quotes, Purchases, Leads, Locations, Zones, Form Templates, Submitted Forms, Jobs, Job Types, Recurring Job Profiles, Resources, Documents, Tasks, Reminders, Users, and User Groups.

• Files are exported as comma-delimited CSV.

• Exports are limited to 99,999 rows.

• The CSV Filename generated is currently a random string for security reasons. We may review adding a FileNaming mechanism in future releases if there is sufficient request.

Additionally, we've made a crucial improvement to the Contacts smart table:

• Only show Contact Custom Fields saved in Settings. Previously, if a contact had a custom field added ad-hoc, it would show up in the table, making columns come and go unpredictably. This behaviour is now fixed, ensuring the table's columns remain consistent.

• Custom fields are now exportable.
